Tomo sensei is a really good teacher, always well-prepared before class, and adjusts her teaching style/content to my needs and learning abilities. She leverages on her understanding of my background and culture to help me learn using context and understands my weak points being grammar and listening so she practices that a lot with me. My Japanese was stuck at an awkward point for a few years before I met Tomo sensei, because I could use it, but not properly. After 2-3 months of lessons with Tomo sensei, my progress in Japanese has never been faster, and I feel so much more confident speaking and writing Japanese these days.
My 4 years old daughter has been taking lessons for 6 months now, and she is really enjoying them. Tomo-sensei is a wonderful teacher! Especially great with kids. Highly recommended.
Japanese is a rather complex language with many pitfalls and nuances. If you want to really master Japanese, you must study only with a native speaker who can fully explain all of these things. However, it is very difficult to find a native speaker who can teach well. Luckily, Tomo-sensei has all of the above: she is a native speaker and a good teacher. Sometimes she explains things about Japan and Japanese culture, which is also important when learning the language. I’ve been studying with Tomo-sensei for several months now and I’m very satisfied. Highly recommend her as your language teacher!
I’ve been learning with Ms. Tomo for weeks and I really enjoy the way she introduces the language. I love how she builds up the foundation and at the same time, tries to cater the materials based on what I’m interested in. Moreover, she responds to my messages in a timely manner and I truly appreciate that. Highly recommended!!!
Tomo is a great tutor! She is always friendly and adapts the pace to my needs. She explains everything clearly and with examples and really motivates me to continue learning! She provides material to study so that I can continue to learn between lessons. Really recommend her!
